  • Dr Marian Corrigan

    Chair

    Dr Marian Corrigan is a founding member of Vela Microboard's Northern Ireland and is currently Chair of the organisation. A social worker by profession, Marian was Assistant Director of Social Services with the former Southern Health and Social Services Board. Throughout her career Marian has been at the forefront of innovative work including the development and promotion of person centred planning, direct payments and user involvement. Marian has worked in adult services, including disability for most of her career and is committed to ensuring that individuals regardless of their circumstances attain their potential as full citizens within society.

  • Alison Rooney

    Secretary

    Hi I'm Alison Rooney and the newest member to Vela Microboards NI. I've been a social worker for 20 years and a lot of that time within sensory disability services. Vela Microboards and person centred planning have been the foundation that maintained my passion for work and I hope that through my involvement I can 'infect' others



  • Feargal McCormack

    Treasurer

    Feargal McCormack is Treasurer of Vela Microboards NI Ltd and is the father of Seamus, who has a Vela Microboard. Feargal is Managing Director of award winning PKF-FPM Accountants, and a former President of Chartered Accountants Ireland. In 2018 Feargal was awarded the Managing Partner of the Year at the British Accountancy Awards and in 2019 received the Irish Accountant of the Year Award at the 2019 Irish Accountancy Awards.

    Feargal received a Honorary Degree from Ulster University (UU) in 2018 and is currently a Visiting Professor at the UU Business School and is also a Patron of Special Olympics Ireland.



  • Suzanne McStravick

    Board Member

    Suzanne has worked in disability services for over 30 years. This includes institutional, residential, day care, support living and advocacy services. As well as being a Facilitator for Vela Microboards Suzanne works as an independent  consultant and trainer within the Social Care Sector.



  • Rebecca Coyle

    Board Member

    Rebecca is currently studying at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in Queens University Belfast as an Apprentice Solicitor, training with JPH Law / The Law Group. Rebecca completed her undergraduate Law degree with Ulster University and a Masters Degree in Medical Law and Ethics with the University of Law.  Rebecca has always had a passion for helping people. This is reflected in her academic career through her chosen fields of study. Having completed a human rights law, and medical ethics module at both undergraduate and masters levels, and a mental health law module at masters level, Rebecca hopes to bring valuable legal knowledge and a fresh perspective to Vela Microboards NI.
